Scot's Mailing list / How to Manually Remove Log Files (and save space!)
Scot's Mailing List can take up a lot of space if you don't manage your log files. Log files are created when you send to a list, when people subscribe and unsubscribe, and in other cases.
If you've gone a long time without purging your log files then they may become too large to manage via the Scot's Mailing list administration and you'll have to do it manually. Don't worry, this is easy.
FTP into your smr_scotmail data directory ( see the FAQ entry about moving to a new server for instructions on this) and delete:
Delete all files starting with sublog
sublog
all files starting with sentlog
sentlog
Optionally, also delete all files starting with unsublog. I do not recommend this because it tracks unsubscribers which is important for when you're adding people to a mailing list (version 3.34 and above)
unsublog
Manually delete the "sent logs" by deleting all files starting with log_index
log_index
Delete all the files in the logs sub directory.
