1. 08/04/2008 08:26:46, Butterfly when I send a message it is only going to the first 8 e-mails. The page will count up for days and never say that it is done sending it but the sent logs say I haven't sent any messages or only eight what should I do

2. 08/04/2008 10:44:57, Scot Make sure you packed the mailing list. If it's packed and the problem happens, try using hte "list utilities" from the main admin screen and go into the part that fixes bad emails. There may be an email address that's causing problems and more often than not, that utility can fix the problem.

3. 09/11/2008 22:33:11, heatherm I have a similar problem. I have used scots mailing list several times successfully before. I want to send out another mailing using the existing mailing list, I have cloned an email message and sent it to a test email, but nothing happens. There is no error message, the sent log is empty. So I created a new mailing list with 3 addresses (all mine) and sent it to the new mailing list, it went to the first name on the list only, and no others. The sent log is still empty. I packed the lists, ran the list utilities, kept trying, always the same result. No error messages, and only one email. It is a couple of months since I used it, I don't know what has changed.

4. 09/12/2008 09:10:09, Scot Hi,
Send me a private message or contact support with your scotmail url and login so I can take a look.
If you have used the list utilities to clean up the list (fix malformed email addresses) and it still does it, there's one more trick to try which is create a temp list, then use list utilities to merge the original list into the temp list. That will definitely skip any email addresses that are causing problems. Then clear out the original list and merge the temp list back into it.

5. 12/08/2008 16:26:08, NCarollo I'm having the same problem and none of the solutions I've read here have worked. Any ideas?

6. 12/09/2008 00:43:13, Scot After you clean the email list by using the list utilities (merging or cleaning), the "outbox" needs to be rest for the mailing list in question. If the outbox can be reset, you'll see a link when you list all of your mailing lists.

8. 01/16/2009 10:42:26, Scot Did you try the steps in message #4 above? After you do that, make sure to click on the blue "reset outbox" link (list your mailing lists, if the link is there you'll see it).

9. 01/16/2009 11:09:18, tschloss I just tried the steps in #4 the new temp list didn't pull over the records from my main list.
When I looked at View SMTP error logs I see something like this
send_message5 5.5.4 parameter unrecognized
could that have something to do with it?

10. 01/16/2009 11:58:26, Scot I'll repeat the steps from # 4 with more detail. If you follow them, it will work.
1. Create a new mailing list called "temp"
2. On the main screen, click on "list utilities" and then click on "merge mailing lists"
3. For "select the list you want to merge into" select the new "temp" list you just made.
4. Check the list you want to merge from, the list having problems. Leave everything else the same.
After the merge is complete:
1. Clear your original list by listing the mailing lists and clicking on the "clear" link.
2. Use the merge utility again but this time merge the temp list back into your original.
Next update has an automatic list fixer and also removes the reasons this problem comes up in the first place.
